Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear's re-election campaign has raised more than triple the amount of Republican Daniel Cameron, but both candidates have huge super PAC backing.
Their sources of discontent ranged from a drunken driving incident by Democrat Charles “Buddy” Wheatley of Covington and a news report that Republican incumbent Michael Adams of Louisville has used state funds to pay for his bar association membership to practice law.
The top five spenders were Kentucky Merchants and Amusement Coalition, Kentuckians Against Illegal Gambling, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Kentucky Hospital Association and American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky.
