In spite of state guidance recommending remote learning only and the suspension of all school-related athletic and extracurricular activities, Christian County Public Schools continued in-person instruction Friday and had made no announcement to cancel a football game set for Saturday against a school from another county with a "critical" level of community transmission.

Many of the cases have occurred among residents of nursing homes, including Christian Health Center, where 31 residents had an active case of the virus as of Wednesday.
Sixty-eight students and staff combined had to quarantine, according to the district report, but only three of those cases were a result of being a close contact to someone with COVID-19 in a school setting, according to the superintendent.
