The governor and his family were exposed to a state trooper who tested positive for COVID-19.

The seven-day average broke 900 on Sunday and has remained above it, peaking at 920 on Tuesday.

The funds will be paid on a first-come, first-served basis.

The governor called on local health departments to fine bars and restaurants if they are not following the 50% capacity rules, instead of merely educating them about the rules and the reasons for them. He also noted that the state Labor Cabinet and Alcoholic Beverage Control agents could help enforce the rules. 

A cleaning crew will go into the courthouse early Tuesday to sanitize the interior.

Anyone who goes for a flu shot on Oct. 14 will also have the option of being tested for COVID-19.

Deviating from his typical practice, Gov. Andy Beshear provided an update Sunday after the state "shattered" the previous weekly record, which was just set last week.

The latest numbers continue a trend of escalation that began almost four weeks ago, shortly after the Labor Day weekend.
