In its third year, the Santa Claus is Coming to Hoptown event will start at 1 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to help place greenery wreaths at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West following an 11 a.m. ceremony.

More than 90 entries, including floats, marching bands and decorated vehicles, made the procession through the heart of Hopkinsville on Saturday. 

The parade, running on South Main Street from Glass Avenue to 14th Street, will start at 7:15 p.m.

The ceremony at 12:12 p.m. is a remembrance for 248 soldiers killed in the Dec. 12, 1985, Gander, Newfoundland, jet crash.

The parade starts at 5:15 p.m. The route is on South Main Street from Glass Avenue to 14th Street.

Zach Boyd, who is being treated for bone cancer, was chosen from nominations on social media.

The Pennyroyal Arts Council has lined up six holiday films at the Alhambra Theatre in December.

The public is invited to the reception at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.

Alissa Keller will be the speaker for the Dec. 8 program at Hopkinsville Brewing Co.

The Turkey Trot starts at 8 a.m. Thursday at Founders Square downtown.

The service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Chapel CME Church.
