‘Round Table Literary Journal’ winners announced at Hopkinsville Community College

The literary journal's 58th edition had 42 contributors of poetry, prose and artwork.

Hopkinsville Community College recognized several contributors to the 58th annual “Round Table Literary Journal,” during a ceremony on April 25.

These winners were named in the following categories:

Poetry

First: Peruth Nankusu
Second: Aly Adler
Third: Jada Poindexter

Fiction

First: Kendall Mayes
Second: Amelia Hewett
Third: Dominique Davie

Adult Artwork

First: Brittan Joiner
Second: Ashia Rogers
Third: Elizabeth Mase

Kids’ Writing

First: Lane Askew

Kids’ Artwork

First: Penny Richee
Second: Lucas McLauglin
Third: Caroline Boggess

The journal includes poetry, prose and visual artwork by 42 contributors from the Pennyrile region. Among the contributors are students from HCC, Christian County High School, Indian Hills Elementary, Heritage Christian Academy and University Heights Academy.

Faculty member Caitlin Chester served as editor of the journal. The editorial staff was comprised of English faculty member Elizabeth Burton and students Aly Adler and Jada Poindexter. The journal was dedicated to retiring English faculty member Julia Laffoon-Jackson.

The Hopkinsville Community College Foundation sponsored the printing of the literary journal, a press release states.
