Sherry Ezell Calhoun

Sherry Ezell Calhoun, 68, of Hopkinsville, died on the morning of Monday, Oct. 24, at her home. A native of Christian County, she grew up on a dairy farm, was a state champion in 4-H competition and was crowned Kentucky Dairy Princess in 1973. She was a 1976 graduate of the University of Kentucky, earning a bachelor’s degree with a focus in clothing, textiles and merchandising design.

Calhoun opened the Hopkinsville gift store Gracious Me! in 2005. The business has received numerous awards and was recipient of Best of Western Kentucky Gift Shop and Home Décor eight years running. She was a charter member of New Work Fellowship.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, at New Work Fellowship. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the church. Burial will follow at the Calhoun Family Farm. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donations can be made in honor of Calhoun to Vanderbilt Breast Center, New Work Fellowship Youth Program or Max’s Hope Pet Rescue of Hopkinsville.
