Mark R. Smith, 73, of Hopkinsville, died at 9:55 p.m. Thursday, May 22, in Madisonville. A native of Gulfport, Mississippi, he was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. After an honorable discharge, he worked with the Department of Defense managing logistics. He was a member and frequent volunteer of both the Flat Lick Presbyterian Church and the Pennyrile Emmaus Organization. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 30, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations is in charge of the arrangements.
