Lucian “L.A.” Hill Jr., 97, of Hopkinsville, died Sunday, Feb. 4, at Bradford Heights Nursing and Rehab of natural causes. A Hopkinsville native, he was a lifelong farmer, raised cattle and worked in several agricultural related jobs for the Farm Service Agency and other employers. At various times, he was a crop surveyor, a grain inspector and a tobacco warehouse supervisor. He was well-known for his strawberry patch. Hill was a member of Sinking Fork Baptist Church and served as a deacon, treasurer and Sunday School teacher. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Sinking Fork Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the church. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
