Jane K. Chapman, 85, of Hopkinsville, died at 4:21 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. A native of Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was active in the community, serving on the mayor’s committee and the League of Women Voters, in addition to being a driving force of the major renovations to the Alhambra in the 1980s. Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Private burial will be Thursday, Oct. 3, at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the service hour Wednesday at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pennyroyal Arts Council or First United Methodist Church.
