James Ralph Cochran Sr.

James Ralph Cochran Sr., 103, of Louisville, Kentucky, and formerly of Hopkinsville, died at 3:48 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at his home. A native of Graves County, Kentucky, he was a World War II veteran having served three years in the U.S. Army. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay State University and a master’s degree from Webster University. In 1958, he purchased Cornette’s Office Supply in Hopkinsville and, from 1964 to 1987, he was a teacher for Christian County Public Schools. He also was a former member of the Jaycees and the Rotary Club of Hopkinsville. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
