Dorothy “Dot” Dossett, 86, of Pembroke, died at 3:18 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Christian County, she was the first woman mayor of Pembroke and worked for more than 40 years in the banking industry. She was a member of Pembroke United Methodist Church, where she played the organ for more than 30 years. She also was an active member of Pennyrile Emmaus and the United Methodist Women. Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Jan. 30, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Pembroke. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Pembroke United Methodist Church or Micah Mission.
