Carole Hancock, 79, of Hopkinsville, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Christian Health Center. She worked as a pediatric nurse most of her career and is best known for her time with Drs. Payne, Howard and Campbell. The children she saw then have grown up and many have children of their own, but she is still best known to many of them strictly as “Nurse Carole.” She was an active member of The Lighthouse. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Sept. 5, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home.
