C. Wayne East, 86, of Hopkinsville, died at 3:01 a.m. Monday, March 17, at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Hopkinsville High School and the Bemis Lawrence Real Estate School. He served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps before going on to work in the electrical and banking industries and, later, as a realtor and developer. He served as president of the Hopkinsville Board of Realtors from 1979 to 1981 and, in 1980, he was named Realtor of the Year and also represented the Hopkinsville Board of Realtors as a state director. He served as president of the Pennyrile Housing Corporation from 1987 to 1989, and served as a director of the Christian County Home Builders Association in 1989. He also was inducted into the Hopkinsville, Christian and Todd County Board of Realtors Hall of Fame. He was a member at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon’s International P.O.
