Ben S. Wood III, 78, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was the former owner of several Copper Still liquor stores in Hopkinsville and an avid student of local history. He was the great-great-great-grandson of Hopkinsville founder Bartholomew Wood. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
