The closures will be in effect until at least April 13.

The case is classified as presumptive positive because the test results came from a private company and must be verified by the state.

The order comes from Kentucky’s public health commissioner and the acting secretary of Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

The temporary closures were ordered to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the coronavirus.

Secretary of State Michael Adams said the measure buys the state time to respond to the epidemic before voters line up.

The governor also said all in-person services from state government would cease by the end of Tuesday.
