In an effort to avoid the frequent disruption seen last year, some school districts are offering COVID-19 testing programs to some or all of their students. In Christian County, the district has launched a "Test to Stay" program for school-acquired close contacts.
Louisville Rep. Attica Scott’s bill would require schools to teach about a list of subjects including the slave trade, the Civil War, Jim Crow laws, residential segregation and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
A spokesman said the district wants to prevent a spike in quarantine absenteeism. The district will review the policy over fall break in early October.
Under the new regulation, the department will automatically forgive the debt of borrowers who the Social Security Administration has identified as severely disabled.
