The Christian County Master Gardeners will give gardening tips for beginners during three sessions planned on the second Tuesday of March, April and May at Hopkinsville Brewing Co. Each session of “Beer Garden(ing)” will start at 6 p.m. and last about 20 minutes. The lessons are free.

The group described the sessions as follows:
March 8
County extension agent Kelly Jackson will share how and when to prune a variety of shrubs, including hydrangea, forsythia and crepe myrtle. He’ll also show some of his favorite gardening tools. “Just try to stump him with your gardening questions,” an organizer said.
April 12
Frank Amaro will lead a session on all things veggie, including five easy vegetables anyone can grow and a few herbs that no one should be without.
May 10
Martha White will share basic flower dividing and gardening tips, such has how to divide hostas iris, daffodils and daylilies. Everyone is encouraged to bring some plants to trade.
Hopkinsville Brewing is on Fifth Street between Main and Virginia streets.
