Knights of Columbus serving meals to raise money for feeding programs

The first meal, honoring Saint Joseph, will be on Feb. 25.

The Knights of Columbus at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church will begin a new project this month to highlight saints in their faith tradition while raising money to help feed people in Hopkinsville.

The Saint Celebration Program will begin with a pasta meal served from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, at the church fellowship hall on East Ninth Street. It will honor Saint Joseph. Local residents who purchase a meal will be contributing to the Knights of Columbus fund to feed hungry people in the community, said Tom O’Hagan.

The Knights have a tradition of helping to feed families in Hopkinsville. In the past year, they have given to feeding programs at The Salvation Army, Breaking Bread Dinner Church and the Pennyroyal Veteran’s Center. They also provide meat and groceries to local families during the holidays.

The February meal will include pasta with meatballs, a salad, roll and dessert. The cost is $10 for adults and $3 for children. The family price, for two adults and three children, is $25.

Meals will be available to dine in or carry out, and orders can be placed using this form. The church is at 902 E. Ninth St.
