Health department updates procedure for scheduling 2nd vaccine dose

Officials outlined how second doses will be scheduled in a post on the health department's vaccine website.

The Christian County Health Department has changed some procedures for scheduling COVID-19 vaccine second doses, officials announced on the department’s vaccine website

Beginning this week, anyone receiving their first vaccination at the James E. Bruce Convention Center will have their second appointment scheduled before they leave the convention center.

Anyone who received the first vaccine between Jan. 11-15 should call the health department at 270-887-4160, ext. 640, to scheduled their second appointment.

Anyone vaccinated after Jan. 15 who doesn’t yet have a scheduled second appointment should expect a message from the health department soon — by email, text or phone call — with information about when to return for the second vaccination.

The health department is currently in phases 1a and 1b for vaccinations. Phase 1b includes people age 70 and older.
