Health department reports Christian County’s 14th coronavirus death

The county health director also announced Monday that 16 new coronavirus cases were confirmed.

The Christian County Health Department has reported the death of an 85-year-old man who is the county’s 14th COVID-19 related fatality. 

The man had underlying health conditions, County Health Director Kayla Bebout said in a press release Monday afternoon. His death follows the county’s 12th and 13th deaths related to COVID-19 reported last week. 

The health department also reported 16 new coronavirus cases Monday, pushing the county’s total since the pandemic began to 888 cases. The total includes 238 active cases and 636 recovered, in addition to the 14 deaths.  

The number of confirmed, active cases by age group are:

  • Youth (0-21): 63
  • Young Adult-Middle Age (22-59): 133
  • Older Adult (60-84): 36
  • Elderly (85+): 6
