Four not-for-profit organizations in Christian County recently received their share of the Planters Bank Season of Giving holiday promotion, which provided nearly $90,000 combined for 12 groups in Kentucky and Tennessee communities where the bank has offices.

The local organizations and the amounts they received are: Hopkinsville Convention & Visitors Bureau ($10,117), Pennyroyal Arts Council ($8,137), Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park ($6,270) and the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County($7,871).
“Planters Bank is thrilled to be able to play a part in the recovery efforts for these wonderful community organizations,” Planters Bank CEO Elizabeth McCoy said in a news release. “Each organization has a far-reaching impact, and we wanted to help support the continuance of that impact. Our community is always enthusiastic about supporting Season of Giving beneficiaries and this year that continued.”
The proceeds, totaling $88,964 for the 12 organizations, came from an initial Planters donation of $60,000 and from the sales of holiday tins the bank produced and sold in its branches and other locations.
