Artists invited to submit proposals to lead mural camp

The artist chosen for the Pennyroyal Arts Council project will guide 10 students during a five-day camp in October to create a downtown mural related to Hopkinsville history.

The Pennyroyal Arts Council is seeking proposals from artists to lead a youth art camp Oct. 6 to 10 that will result in a downtown mural measuring 19 by 12 feet. The mural design will connect to Hopkinsville’s history.

“Artists are encouraged to propose designs that are historical, interactive, and reflective of Hopkinsville’s unique heritage and character,” a spokeswoman said in a press release. “The mural should provide opportunities for community interaction, such as photo-friendly elements or creative perspectives.”

The artist chosen for the project will guide 10 students during the camp sessions, 9 a.m. to noon, for five days.
