Community members invited to hear Jason David at Hope City Church

David, a cancer survivor and musician, is currently on the “No Turning Back” tour through several states. He'll be at the Hopkinsville church on June 1 and 2.

Hope City Church, 1005 S. Main St., will host motivational speaker and musician Jason David during vacation Bible school meetings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1, and Tuesday, June 2.

The public is invited, and attendees do not need to register in advance, said Chris Childers, church pastor.

David, a cancer survivor, is currently touring churches across several states. His “No Turning Back” appearances are a mix of “preaching, music and worship,” event organizers said in a Facebook post.

David lost 80% of his tongue during treatment for Stage 4 cancer. He became a touring speaker and recording artist despite predictions that he would never preach or sing again, according to David’s website

Hope City Church was formerly called Bridge of Hope Fellowship. Its members are involved in downtown ministries to help locals with food and housing insecurities. They provide the Dinner Church meals every Thursday afternoon at the Salvation Army Dining Hall.
