Lenten Luncheon series begins Feb. 20 at Grace Episcopal Church

Community members are invited to a brief service and meal at noon every Friday through March 27.

Grace Episcopal Church is inviting community members to its Lenten Luncheon series every Friday, Feb. 20 to March 27. 

A local minister will lead a brief service each week beginning at noon, and a lunch prepared by members of Grace will follow. 

A  donation is suggested for the meal, and proceeds support the missions of Grace.

The schedule of ministers leading the services is as follows:

  • Feb. 20 — The Rev. Becky Durham, First Presbyterian Church
  • Feb. 27 — The Very Rev. Stephen Spicer, Grace Episcopal Church
  • March 6 — The Rev. M.O. Fort, Virginia Street Baptist Church
  • March 13 — The Rev. Glen Schory, First Christian Church
  • March 20 — The Rev. Lisa Balboa, Freeman Chapel CME
  • March 27 — The Rev. Dan Huck, First United Methodist Church

Lent is the season lasting 40 days when Christians prepare for Christ’s resurrection at Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which is Feb. 18 this year. Easter is on April 5.

Grace Episcopal Church is at Sixth and Liberty streets.
