Christian County Public Schools are closed today for in-person instruction because of road conditions following a wintry mix of precipitation overnight.

The Inspire Early Learning Center is also closed, and athletic games and school events are canceled.

“The district will utilize [Non-Traditional Instruction] Day 1, meaning students will be expected to complete Day 1 of their NTI assignments,” CCPS spokeswoman Johnna Brown said in a press release. “Teachers and staff will be available by email or ParentSquare for any students needing assistance or support.”

Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School announced it would run on a one-hour delay, while University Heights Academy and Heritage Christian Academy were both opening at the regular time.

The area was under a winter weather advisory until 9 a.m. Tuesday, and overnight temperatures are expected to dip below freezing through the end of the week.
