Students set to perform ‘The Secret Garden’ at Alhambra

Tickets are available for Saturday's show featuring more than 50 children.

Following auditions Monday, more than 50 students are practicing their roles in a musical adaptation of “The Secret Garden.” The public can see their show at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Alhambra Theatre. 

The Pennyroyal Arts Council is hosting the residency of the Missoula Children’s Theatre, whose staff organizes and directs the show. 

Rebecca Wood plays the lead character of Mary Lennox, said Molly Campbell, arts education coordinator for the arts council. Last summer for another Missoula residence in Hopkinsville, Rebecca had the role of Rapunzel.

Also in “The Secret Garden” are Naomi Fancher as Martha Sowerby, Jessara Crenshaw as Dickon Sowerby, Kaitlynn Williams as Susan Sowerby, Trae Becks as Colin Craven, Janai Porchia as Archibald Craven, Chevy Kline as Mrs. Medlock, Alyssa Minemyer as Doctor Craven, Judah Fancher as Ben Weatherstaff, Olivia Rodgers as Robin Redbreast. 

The Bugs that Rock are played by Honey Blount, Annabelle Burley, Terryn Johnson, Emma London, Kennedy Moorefield, Emily Purviance, Tori Tompkins, and Ahnalise Westbrook.

The Canadian Geese are Londynn Bean, Raleigh Burley, Ellany Campbell, Willow Groves, Storm Henderson, James Lansford, Madelin Lose, Eva Mayberry, Bostyn Russell, and Amelia Williams.

Appearing as the Moor Folk are Ava Blake, Olive Burley, Skylar Dawes, Kinsley Dickerson, Jackson Holland, Geo Leyenaar, Ella Minemyer, and Penny Richee.

Annabelle Campbell, Jackson Gossett, Myla Judkins and Zynlee Rodgers will play the Fireflies.

Sylvie Burley, Aria Campbell, Palmer Gossett, Ashlynn Groves, Jonathan Lansford, Qorah Richee, Pepper Ricks, Abby Stine, Nolen Walker, and Eleanor Williams will perform the roles of the Secret Garden.

The assistant director is Tatelyn Dueitt.

General admission tickets are $8 at pennyroyalarts.org and $10 at the door.

Flynn Enterprises provides funding that helps the arts council bring Missoula Children’s Theatre to Hopkinsville.
