Christian County adds 5 new coronavirus cases

Despite a recent decrease in the seven-day rolling average of new cases, the county has seen an upward two-week trend, with 17.7% growth over the last 14 days.

The Christian County Health Department reported five new coronavirus cases on Thursday, pushing the total number of local cases confirmed since the pandemic began to 791.

As of Thursday afternoon, there were 238 COVID-19 cases classified as active by the health department. There have been 11 deaths in the county attributed to the virus.

Health officials provided the following breakdown of active cases by age group:

  • Youth (0-21): 51
  • Young Adult-Middle Age (22-59): 127
  • Older Adult (60-84): 53
  • Elderly (85+): 7
