Christian County reports record number of COVID-19 cases in one week

On Friday, the health department reported 13 new cases of COVID-19, pushing the local total to 730. In the last seven days, 109 new cases of the novel coronavirus were confirmed locally.

The report boosted the number of local cases classified as active to 241, also a new record.

Three COVID-19 related deaths have been reported by the county this week — a 63-year-old woman, an 87-year-old man and a 73-year old woman.

The breakdown of active cases by age group provided by the Christian County Health Department is:

  • Youth (0-21): 50
  • Young Adult-Middle Age (22-59): 128
  • Older Adult (60-84): 56
  • Elderly (85+): 8
