The camp is offered by the Pennyroyal Arts Council’s smARTS program. Enrollment will be limited to 15 students per session to ensure space for social distancing to protect against spreading the coronavirus. The camp will be taught on the historic theatre’s stage.

One session will be taught from 9 a.m. to noon. The other will run from 1 to 4 p.m.

The cost is $150, and applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“The arts council is excited to be able to offer this hands-on arts experience and looks forward to the creativity that will be produced during this week,” the council’s arts education coordinator, Molly Campbell, said in a news release.

The camp will focus on recycling, and campers will study different techniques and work with a variety of arts, styles and mediums.

The instructor is 2014 Kentucky Art Education Association Teacher of the Year Paula Gieske. A mural and portrait artist, she teaches at Christian County High School.

Additional information is available by emailing Campbell. Applications can be downloaded here.
