The Christian County Health Department reported eight new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, pushing the total number of local cases confirmed since the pandemic began to 902.
It’s the fourth day in a row that the seven-day average of new cases has been eight, which is 28.3% lower than two weeks ago.
While the county has seen an apparent plateau recently, more than a third of all coronavirus cases since the pandemic began in mid-March have been reported within the last month.
The total number of local cases includes 228 classified as active and 660 classified as recovered. Since the pandemic began, there have been 14 coronavirus-related deaths, with the most recent reported Monday.
The active cases by age group are:
- Youth (0-21): 60
- Young Adult-Middle Age (22-59): 125
- Older Adult (60-84): 34
- Elderly (85+): 9
