The coronavirus pandemic made it difficult for the Pennyroyal Arts Council to put on its annual exhibit of youth art in the Hopkinsville Community College auditorium gallery. But the observance of Youth Art Month wasn’t canceled this year — it just moved online.

An online exhibit — featuring drawings, watercolors, collages and photography from public, private and home-school students in elementary, middle and high school — will be available to view through April 30. The Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club sponsors the exhibit this year.

“In conjunction with this year’s Big Read selection ‘Circe’ by Madeline Miller, the portal is showcasing the novel with student artwork relating to the book,” the arts council’s education coordinator, Molly Campbell, said in a news release. “Each piece gives the viewer insight into the creativity and interpretation of the young artists, as well as an appreciation of their hard work.”

Campbell commended teachers for helping the arts council shift to a different format this year.
