Winter weather advisory issued for Western Kentucky

The forecast indicates sleet and snow Monday evening, followed by freezing rain Tuesday morning.

Western Kentucky will be under a winter weather advisory from 3 p.m. Monday until 9 a.m Tuesday with the possibility of sleet, snow and ice. 

“Precipitation will start off as sleet/snow on the onset Monday evening before transitioning to mainly freezing ran through early Tuesday morning,” the National Weather Service states in its advisory

The region could see up to one-half inch of snow and two-tenths of an inch of ice accumulation, according to the forecast

Monday’s high will be around 38 degrees and the overnight low will dip to 24. Tuesday’s high will be 33.
