Winter storm prediction affecting Thursday vaccine appointments

The Christian County Health Department is offering two other days to get the vaccine.

Because of the prediction of severe winter weather, anyone who has a vaccine appointment scheduled on Thursday may instead get the vaccine today or on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the James E. Bruce Convention Center, the Christian County Health Department announced.

No vaccines will be administered Thursday, department spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney Brunt confirmed.

Anyone opting to go for a vaccine today or Tuesday should go “at the same appointment time you were scheduled for your original appointment,” Brunt said in a news release.

She added, “Please be patient as we work to get you through the vaccine clinic in an orderly fashion. Please do not show up more than 10 minutes before your appointment. This will help our staff keep an organized flow of patients coming through the clinic.”

This story has been updated to confirm the Bruce Center will not be open Thursday for vaccines.
