A reunion for Hopkinsville’s old West Side School is slated for 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Casey Jones Distillery on Witty Lane.
The music group Full Circle will play from 6:30 until 8:45 p.m., and several food trucks will be serving, including Palate Junkies, Burgaism, Camo Caravan and The Cupcake Ladies.
“Whether you went to West Side, taught at West Side, married someone from West Side, know someone who went to West Side or just wish you had — this party is for you,” the reunion organizers said in a press release.
West Side, which stood on West Seventh Street near Second Baptist Church, was constructed in the early 1900s. The school closed as a public elementary school in 1972 and the main school building was later razed.
