West Edmunds is now a one-way street

Hopkinsville drivers have long used West Edmunds Street as a cut-through from South Main Street to Canton Street.

West Edmunds Street near Jennie Stuart Medical Center has become a one-way street, officials with Hopkinsville Public Works announced Tuesday.

“Please use caution while traveling in this area and be mindful of new signage and traffic patterns,” a spokesman said in city press release. “This change is being made to improve traffic flow and enhance public safety.”

With the change, traffic will travel one way from South Main Street to West 19th Street, heading toward Canton Street.
