Warm clothing drive underway to help veterans at Hopkinsville facility

Coats, jackets and other articles of warm clothing are being collected by the Knights of Columbus.

Members of the Knights of Columbus are conducting a warm clothing drive through Dec. 15 to help the residents of the Pennyroyal Veterans Center in Hopkinsville.

“With extreme cold temperatures up on us, we will be collecting warm clothing for our heroes looking to re-establish themselves in our community,” said Tom O’Hagan, president of the local council of Knights of Columbus. “Please help us help them. They are the reason that we live in the greatest country in the world — free and safe.”

Pennyroyal Veterans Center, on Boales Street, is a 50-bed facility for homeless veterans.

Anyone with coats, jackets and other articles of warm clothing to donate may take them to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 902 E. Ninth St., or call O’Hagan at 270-348-2322 to arrange for a member of Knights to pick up the clothing.
