Virginia Street Baptist Church plans 30th anniversary banquet for pastor

The banquet honoring the Rev. Dr. M.O. Fort and his wife, Renee Fort, will be March 28 at the Pioneers Complex.

The public is invited to a 30th anniversary banquet honoring the pastor of Virginia Street Baptist Church, the Rev. Dr. M.O. Fort, and his wife, Renee Fort, at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 28, at the Pioneers Complex.

Tickets are available to purchase until March 23 by contacting Rodney Davis at 270-498-4347. The cost is $30 per person.

It is a semi-formal event, and the banquet theme colors are black and white. The guest speaker will be Dr. Michael Rice, pastor of First Baptist Church in Glasgow. 

Fort became the pastor of Virginia Street Baptist in 1995, and since 2006 he has served as president of Hopkinsville College of the Bible, where he also is an instructor. 

Fort earned his bachelor’s degree at American Baptist College in Nashville and his Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Pastoral Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia. 

Following the banquet at Pioneers, there will be an anniversary celebration for Fort at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 6, at Virginia Street Baptist Church, 210 S. Virginia St.
