United Way campaign surpasses $311,000

Campaign leaders revealed the amount raised so far during a joint lunch meeting of Hopkinsville’s Rotary and Kiwanis clubs.

A month after announcing a fundraising goal of $730,000, the United Way of the Pennyrile has received donations and pledges totaling more than $311,000.

In line with the campaign theme of Planting Seeds of Hope, the luncheon included a floral arranging competition that pulled in an additional $1,783 for the campaign, according to a Facebook post

The United Way of the Pennyrile, helps fund 47 programs offered by 19 agencies in Caldwell, Christian, Todd and Trigg counties. Last year’s campaign generated $726,743.
