UK’s homecoming queen and king have Hopkinsville ties

Maggie Davis and Jonathan Thomas were crowned during homecoming ceremonies Saturday in Lexington.

Hopkinsville was in the spotlight Saturday in Lexington when the University of Kentucky’s homecoming queen and king were crowned during halftime of UK’s game against Arkansas.

The homecoming queen, Maggie Davis, of Lexington, is the granddaughter of Bill and Faye Dorris of Hopkinsville. Her parents are Beth and John Davis. 

The king, Jonathan Thomas, is the son of Judy and Mark Thomas, of Hopkinsville.

Davis, a senior, is majoring in broadcast journalism, political science and digital media and design, according to a UK news release. Her sorority, Chi Omega, nominated her for homecoming queen.

Thomas, also a senior, is an economics and business management major. He’s a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, Cats for Christ and the Economics Society. Alpha Delta Pi sorority nominated him for king.
