Trace Industries to benefit from car wash proceeds Friday

Tidal Wave Auto Spa on the Boulevard will donate half of the day's proceeds to the training program for people with disabilities.

Drivers who get their vehicles washed Friday, Sept. 15, at Tidal Wave Auto Spa, 4089 Fort Campbell Blvd., will be boosting donations to Trace Industries, a training and job program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Trace, which has programs in Hopkinsville, Princeton and Madisonville, will receive 50% of all proceeds from car washes on that day. The other 50% will be donated to the nonprofit residential program Annandale Village, a corporate partner of Tidal Wave that provides assistance to adults with development disabilities in Georgia.

Elizabeth Knight, a spokeswoman for Trace Industries, said the program serves 64 adults at its three locations. Trace is part of the Pennyroyal Center, a nonprofit mental health agency.

Tidal Wave, located at the former site of Applebee’s restaurant, is part of a chain of 175 car washes in 23 states, a news release from the company states. Friday is the 15th annual Charity Day sponsored by Tidal Wave with a portion of the proceeds going to organizations in the local communities.
