The three House members who represent parts of Christian County — Republican Reps. Myron Dossett, Jason Petrie and Walker Thomas — all voted in favor of HB 509.
One lawmaker opposing the bill said it was troubling to criminalize protest when the First Amendment protects the right of " people to peaceably assemble and to petition government for a redress of grievances."
The projects include a gunnery training range, a new airfield fire and rescue station and an equipment staging area to support overseas deployments, U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell said.
The bipartisan legislation comes four years after Louisville resident Breonna Taylor was shot to death when police entered her apartment on a no-knock warrant.
