The CEO of the Ashland hospital said COVID-19 is no longer limited to people with underlying health conditions. It's also affecting "babies, children and healthy, active men and women who have no idea how they were exposed."

State and local authorities sought help and guidance from the CDC starting in January, but the CDC ignored questions, gave conflicting advice, brushed off calls to take the pandemic more seriously, and as late as April, continued to downplay the potential harm of the coronavirus, USA Today reports.

Health Commissioner Steven Stack join the governor's call to follow the guidance of health departments and he questioned why adults says they can't breathe through a mask.

The governor also reported three more COVID-19 deaths, raising the state's toll to 1,060.

Gov. Andy Beshear reported 13 more deaths, raising the state's COVID-19 toll to 1,057.
