At least 29 states have passed "name, image, likeness" policy. Pressure is increasing for Congress to pass national legislation to prevent a patchwork of different policies across the country.

Candidates — including incumbent lawmakers seeking re-election — won’t know what their districts look like unless new maps are passed into law within the first four days of next year’s legislative session.

The governor wants to increase starting pay for state troopers from $40,000 per year to $55,000 and also fund an $8,000 raise for dispatchers, who currently start at $24,000 per year.
