After offering virtual worship for a month, many churches are looking for other ways to connect with members while observing the state ban on gatherings.

Gov. Andy Beshear is asking Kentuckians to use green lights at their homes, businesses and public buildings to honor people who have died from the coronavirus.

Countywide there are 25 confirmed, active cases of the novel coronavirus.

One of the cases is reportedly a patient at Western State Hospital in Hopkinsville.

A new lab under contract to process COVID-19 tests for Jennie Stuart Medical Center and its Express Lab is providing results within 72 hours.

Beshear said approximately 64 Kentuckians are known to have recovered from the virus so far.

In several Tennessee counties along the Kentucky border, the rate of infection is higher than it is in the neighboring Kentucky counties, Beshear noted.

Roughly four of every five people tested at Jennie Stuart Medical Center or its Express Lab are still waiting for results from LabCorp's testing facility in North Carolina. The local hospital will be working with a new lab beginning March 30.

The effort came together after Heather Dawson asked Jennie Stuart's CEO, Eric Lee, what she and others could do to help.

Gracious Me! owner Sherry Calhoun made the announcement in a Facebook post for her store.

The woman had direct contact with a 24-year-old local man who is presumed to have COVID-19.

The closures will be in effect until at least April 13.
