The county’s coronavirus total, as of Tuesday, was 179, including 39 active cases, 137 recovered and three deaths.

The event will observe social distancing at the start line and during other correlating activities. A virtual race option also is available and allows participants to run 13.1 or 3.1 miles on their own time and at their own location, while still receiving a race bib, shirt and medal.

Public health officials are urging people to get tested for COVID-19 — in addition to frequent hand-washing, wearing a mask and social distancing — to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Some people with no symptoms have been infected but don’t know they carry the virus and could spread it to others.

At least 4,103 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the county. That includes 2,284 by the health department and 1,819 by Jennie Stuart. Additional testing has been done through local physicians’ offices and medical clinics, but those numbers are not being reported.

Of Christian County's 126 total cases, 20 are active and 103 are recovered. The county has had three COVID-19 related deaths.

Most of the city’s parks and recreational facilities had been closed since March 15.

Patients will be allowed to have one visitor, and visitors will be given surgical masks to wear.

Statewide, 443 people were hospitalized, and 20 deaths were reported, the most in a single day since the start of the coroanvirus outbreak.

The county could see a spike in people testing positive for COVID-19 as more residents get out of their homes when businesses reopen, the county health director said.

The art guild, established 55 years ago, will continue as an organization and artwork by its members will be sold online. A final gallery sale is planned May 21-23.

The health department is offering to provide transportation for anyone who cannot provide their own to the testing site at Tie Breaker Park.
