Admission is free for the Aug. 27 festival.

The free program is slated Sept. 1 at Hopkinsville Brewing Co.

The open house on Aug. 23 will kick off a new year of programs and events.

The special event is a nod to the story of a Kelly farm family who claimed that aliens invaded their homeplace on Aug. 21, 1955.

The classes are taught on Saturdays and generally last four hours.

The premiere will be Friday, Aug. 18

As Hoptown Chronicle editor Jennifer P. Brown settled in to watch the Perseids meteor shower, an unexpected soundtrack enhanced the experience.

Landlords, tenants and community leaders are slated to speak during the forum at 5 p.m. Monday.

Slated Aug. 19, the concert and a laser light show presented by American Floyd will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the album "Dark Side of the Moon."

The awards will be presented at the Unity Breakfast on Oct. 26.

Diane Croney Turner recently stepped down after serving approximately 30 years on the museum board.

The Croney family was represented by four generations, including matriarch Nannie Croney whose oral history includes a story of resistance on behalf of her children.
