State science panel taps 2 local teachers

Teachers from Crofton and Indian Hills will serve on the committee that reviews and revises science standards.

Two public school teachers in Christian County will serve on a state panel responsible for reviewing and revising Kentucky Science Standards over the next two years.

They are Christina Morris, of Crofton Elementary School, who will serve on the Science Review Committee, and Mindy Crider, of Indian Hills Elementary, will be part of the Science Advisory Panel.

“These crucial committees and the members selected to serve allow Kentucky schools to remain on goal of producing science-minded graduates,” Christian County Superintendent Chris Bentzel said in a news release.

Having two local teachers on the state committee demonstrates to parents the commitment of Christian County Public Schools to science education, he said.
