Spring forward 1 hour Sunday morning

Daylight saving time begins the second Sunday in March and ends the first Sunday in November.

Daylight saving time will begin at 2 a.m. Sunday, when most Americans observe the practice of springing forward one hour to 3 a.m.

Most areas of the nation have recognized the second Sunday in March as the start of daylight saving time since 2007. It continues until the first Sunday in November, when Americans go back to standard time.

“How we came to move the clock forward in the spring, and then push it back in the fall, is a tale that spans over more than a century — one that’s driven by two world wars, mass confusion at times and a human desire to bask in the sun for a long as possible,” writes Jamie Stengle of The Associated Press.
