Several locally owned businesses, especially restaurants, are preparing to reopen this week following a few days of weather-related closures.
Patrons who are ready to venture out have several choices. Hoptown Chronicle compiled a list of some Hopkinsville establishments with plans to be open Wednesday and later this week.
Taylor Hayes, president of the Christian County Chamber of Commerce, issued a statement asking residents to support local businesses affected by the winter storm.
“As conditions improve, we encourage everyone to shop local, dine local, and support the businesses that make our community strong,” said Hayes.
A message posted on the Hopkinsville Downtown Entertainment District’s Facebook page also encourages local residents to seek out small businesses as they reopen following the winter storm that left layers of snow and ice on roads.
“When the roads are clear, please support/shop/eat at your favorite small businesses first,” the message says. “They’ve likely missed several days of work, which could make or break their bills for this month. They need you, and honestly, your community needs them.”
