A portion of one of Hopkinsville’s most heavily traveled streets will be closed during the day Thursday, March 5, and Friday, March 6.
The closure of 21st Street between South Virginia Street and Fort Campbell Boulevard at Walnut Street is related to construction of the Kirkman Terrace senior apartment building.
The street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days so Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority can do sanitary sewer work, according to a news release from the city of Hopkinsville.
“Motorists are encouraged to use Country Club Lane and East Ninth Street as detour routes,” a city official said. “Northbound traffic on Fort Campbell Boulevard and southbound traffic on Walnut Street will not be able to turn onto East 21st Street. Likewise traffic from South Virginia Street will be unable to turn onto East 21st Street.”
